We are a community of (gay) future and current mothers and fathers that believe in sharing, learning, and supporting each other.
Together with our members and financial/non-financial partners, we carry out our activities to make sure the experience of becoming and being a parent is the best possible one.
Our vision is to contribute to the creation a world where the LGBT+ community has full control of their own reproductive rights.
Our mission is to accompany and support (gay) parents during their road to parenthood and during the upbringing of their children by exercising our right to reliable information on our options to build a family of our own.

1. Belly buds
Around the month 5 of pregnancy, the future parents will receive belly buds. These are some headphones for the belly, that will allow them to send voice messages to their babies.
2. Training in the Future Dad’s workshop
At around month 7 of pregnancy, a training will be planned. The training is done at the Atelier de Futurs Papas, and it can be off or online. This is a training specifically tailored for men. A similar training in English is on the planning.
3. Emotional and psychological support with a specialist (Tree of Life)
During the pregnancy and after, a coach, using the methodology of the Tree of Life, will support (future) parents in dealing with their emotions of entering and dealing with parenthood.
4. The Annual Event
The annual event is the moment for members to come together and share, learn and get inspired. The participation to the event is limited to current members of the community who are in the process towards becoming parents.
During the event, which has happened the past 3 years in Sitges, Spain, we organize working sessions and trainings where we all share our stories and our desires to become parents; trainings are delivered (such as first aid for babies, legal advice, psychological support, etc); and we get inspired by the stories of those who have become parents and learn how they managed this long and emotional process of their path chosen.
5. Materials kit
The Foundation has made available material kits for recent parents, so they don´t have to buy and dispose of materials to take care of their newborns. These kits are for rent on request by the future parents.
6. Sponsors
Within our community, a sponsor’s program has been established. This is, future or current parents (at least 5 months pregnant), can accompany other future parents and help each other to ride this emotionally charged process.
7. Members helping members translating.
Within our community, members are ready to help other future parents and parents to help with translation as needed. Service on request by future dads.
8. Knowledge trainings, on and off-line.
Education is a key component of the SurroGay Foundation´s existence. Within and outside of our community, we engage professionals, members and non-members, to deliver trainings that can help future parents prepare for the arrival of their babies and for current parents to aid them on the care of their children.
The SurroGay Foundation welcomes members who are willing to help build a group of parents and future parents that share the same ethical principles on how the process to become parents should be. If you are an (LGBT+) parent or are considering becoming one, feel free to contact us.
